This month will mark the fourth year of being Gluten-free. It seems like a life time ago that I started to develop coeliacs disease, time has gone so fast since. Now I have got used to the diet, it doesn't seem like such a big deal.
Though I have had a few bad reactions, I think being Gluten Free has been good in a way. Before hand I would eat a lot of junk food; but now I have a much healthier diet and I have gained back my love of cooking.
I love to try out different recipes and try new flavours: after all being Gluten Free doesn't mean you have to plain food!
Though I do regret not trying some foods out, before I got Coeliacs disease; but I have tried out new foods since which I wouldn't have before, and so my 'love-in' with food continues.
So here is to the next year, the next four, and the others that come after that. Cheers.

Phil Vickery: Gluten Free Hot Choclate and Raspberry Puddings
Today I was watching 'This Morning' on the off chance, and this fabulous recipe for a melt-in-the-middle chocolate pudding by one of my favourite chiefs came on.
The puddings looked divine and, like most of his recipes, seems easy to do.
Here's a link to the 'This Morning' page; check it out: you need to see these bad boys for yourself ;)

Gluten-free in New York!
I've recently got back from New York and have much news to tell!
So I know what you're wondering? How was the gluten free food out there?
Well it was slightly different to what that I am used to in the UK, but it was alright. The restaurants were accommodating and provided lists of what was suitable and what was not. One of my favourite places for food out there was this Irish pub, called "McHales's", as their food is similar to at home. I constantly ordered the grilled herb and lemon chicken with basmati rice as it was my favourite :P
Some shops, like the one near the hotel I was staying at, had gluten free snacks such as cookies, pretzels, chocolate and other sweet snacks.
Though it was a good experience out there, I am glad to be at home now back to the familar, to thee good, ol' British grub :)

Cake Angels
Cake Angels is bakery that produces wheat, gluten and dairy free cakes! Earlier this year I started to develop a dairy allergy on top of coelliacs disease which made things even more difficult. In June my mum found this website and ordered some chocolate cupcake, vanilla cupcakes and a brownie tray bake to try. She said the website seemed trustworthy and the cakes had won awards which was really positive.
The process of ordering was really simple and easy, the cakes were delivered within the same week of delivery as well.
The cakes are beautifully decorated and taste just as good!

Since we have become regular customers and even purchased a range of cakes for my parents wedding in July as a lot of people with wheat allergies were attending. Everyone ate the cakes and people who did not have allergies could not tell the difference! By the end of the night there were barely any cakes left.
Recently Cake Angels have released their own cook book, which I have bought myself (hehe), there is a selection of the popular cakes which are sold and the instructions are easy to follow.
You can purchase the book from most book shops and easily on Amazon.

Chocolate fingers!
Chocolate fingers are always good to have with a cup of tea
They would be likee a treat every so often and I never knew how much I missed them until I couldn't no longer eat them. But thanks to the amazing brand 'Tru Free' they're now Gluten-free! They're amazing and taste great, it actuallyy tastes likee the real thing but with darker chocolate. Still they're a good sweet treat and are worth a try! Xx

Gluten-free discoveries
Gingerbread Men
Sainsbury's our good friend, has made gluten-free gingerbread men that you can decorate yourself. Not only are they light and delicious; but they're a good treat for younger and older kids!

Got to love cake :P
Everybody loves cake, right? Personally I like vanilla sponage cakes; but the chocolate cake I bought from Marks & Spencers last year for my birthday was to die for! Sometimes with chocolate cake you can feel bloated after eating, but this cake was light and the black cherry jam with the chocolate in the middle was a mouth watering combination that certainly tingled my taste buds.
